This month’s smoothie is inspired by my recent trip to Hawaii — I was lucky enough to get to visit a friend in Oahu for 10 days, and I came back with coconuts on my mind.
After enjoying some pretty amazing tropical beverages out in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, I decided to bring the islands home with me in the form of a healthy smoothie.
Here’s what I came up with!
Healthy Piña Colada
- ½ cup frozen pineapple
- ½ frozen banana
- Mixed super greens (big fist full)
- 2 tbs coconut crème
- Coconut water to desired thickness (start with 1/4 cup and add more as you go until it’s as thick/thin as you like. If 1 cup still isn’t enough, switch over to water for the rest)
- 2 Tbs collagen hydrolysate (optional if you want protein)
