We started the GCC Step Challenge on May 28th, and what a fun challenge it’s been! We’re just over halfway to the finish line! Since I’m the program manager, I am privy to some pretty fantastic statistics about where we are as an organization in this around-the-world challenge, and I’d like to share them with you.
Right now, we have 1225 people participating in the GCC.
Step Summary for AHS participants:
- 11,480 step average
- 506,998,300 total steps
- 201,622 miles total distance covered
So what does this mean for us? It means that while we are doing a FANTASTIC job of staying engaged with this challenge, it also means that we’re behind the average for the world-wide competition. The total GCC step average is 12, 915, which means we all need to step up our game by about 1,435 steps per day to catch up with the rest of the world! Can we do that? If you’ve been tracking your steps, then you know that 1,435 steps can get taken care of in a snap. Just a few extra minutes a day on your feet will get you there. With as far as we’ve come, adding that in should be a piece of cake.
Can you do it??
WILL you do it?
Did you know that the GCC offers Nutrition Guidance?
If you haven’t had a chance to check out the nutrition section of the GCC website, I encourage you to take some time to read through it. They ask you a few simple questions and then give you tailored advice to help you take your fitness to the next level. It’s super simple, and you can do it on your own schedule
The Next Big Thing
If you want even more attention and possibly some one-on-one help with your GCC adventure, I strongly encourage you to visit the first session of the 12-week Bauman Wellness Series Gain Energy, Lose Weight. (this link will only work if you’re reading from an AHS computer). By visiting the first class, you’ll get a taste of what it will be like to participate in this course, meeting 6 times over 12 weeks with the option of having your very own personal wellness coach. You would meet with your coach at your convenience over the course of this workshop to receive tailored help with setting and achieving your health and wellness goals.
We are offering the Bauman Wellness classes at the tail end of the GCC challenge to ensure a smooth transition from challenge life to post-challenge life.
You have done such a great job adding more physical activity into your daily routine, and just because the challenge will eventually come to an end doesn’t mean it will be time to stop moving! Don’t lose the ground you’ve gained; step it up by starting the classes with Bauman Wellness!
If you’d like to learn more about the Bauman Wellness Gain Energy Lose Weight classes at your work site, please reach out to me. The deadline for registration is fast-approaching (August 5th), and we want to see those seats filled!
